SEATTLE—Pacific (2-1) suffered its first loss of the season at Washington (3-0) on a score of 81-64 on Wednesday.

Pacific was held to just 25.7% (9-35) from the field in the first half, including a low 18.2% (4-22) in the first quarter. Washington shot 54.8% (17-31) on the opposite end.
The halftime score was 43-28 in favor of the Huskies.
At the start of the third quarter, James contributed back-to-back buckets to bring the Tigers within 11, 43-32. The Inglewood, Calif., native and Holmberg combined for 10 points, which led to a 52-42 game at the 4:26 mark.
A layup from
Elizabeth Elliott with 2:50 left would trim Washington's lead to single digits. The Huskies answered with back-to-back baskets to end the third quarter and take a 60-46 advantage.
The fourth quarter was all Washington as it scored 21 points with twelve of them coming from the three-point line that put the game away for good.
The Huskies outscored the Tigers, 36-26, in the paint and posted 21 points on 12 offensive rebounds.
Pacific saw 13 of their points from the free-throw line, shooting 92.9% (13-14) compared to Washington's 42.9% (6-14).
Up next, the Tigers return home to play the first game in a Pacific basketball doubleheader against Yale at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The men's game will follow at 8 p.m. Pacific will also be hosting its Food Drive and Native American Heritage Recognition Night.
