CORVALLIS, Ore. – The Pacific men's golf team finished the opening day of the Oregon State Invitational with a 22-over-par 590, standing in 12th place of 14 teams at Trysting Tree Golf Club.
Despite the tough conditions on the golf course, a pair of Tiger golfers placed in the top 20 of the player leaderboard. The Tigers completed the first two rounds with the third-most birdies (26), trailing only host Oregon State and Seattle.
"We survived the rain and wind for most of the day," said head coach

Freshman
Carlos Astiazaran led the Tigers throughout the day, standing in a tie for 11th place with an even-par 142 (70-72). Pacing the Tigers with seven birdies, Astiazaran is one of 14 players to be even-par or better through the first two rounds.
