MORAGA, Calif.- The Pacific women's tennis team capped off another weekend of fall competition, picking up multiple wins through the three-day invitational at Saint Mary's. Three Tigers traveled, including both freshmen, to gain pivotal experience in preparation for the upcoming season.
 
Freshmen Indiya McLeod and Leyanne Hirota were joined by junior Zara Fung through the weekend slate of doubles and singles matches featuring teams from all over Northern California. Fung and Hirota teamed up for multiple doubles matches, putting their newly established chemistry to the test.
 
All three Tigers collected wins over the weekend, including a doubles victory featuring a team up with Pacific's McLeod and Cal Poly's Sarah MacCallum. Fung opened the weekend on a high for the Tigers after downing Stanislaus State's Nicollet Alexander 6-1, 7-5 to advance to the white bracket semifinals.
 
She faced UC Davis' Daisy Maunupau the following day. Though she went to a third set, she fell to the Aggie 3-6, 7-5, 6-2.
 
Hirota captured her win on Saturday over Santa Clara's Anna Semler 6-3, 5-7, 10-1. Then on Sunday morning in doubles, McLeod and Cal Poly's MacCallum edged out Stanislaus State's Alyssa Tay and Annabelle Mulick 6-3 to end the tournament on a positive note for the Tigers.
 
The Tigers return next month as they are set to participate in the Cal State Northridge Invitational.
