Thursday, Feb. 2 – Men's Basketball vs. Pepperdine, Alex G. Spanos Center, 7 p.m.
Twelve athletic competitions this week, but only one home contest for the Tigers - the men's basketball game against Pepperdine on Thursday evening. Women's tennis launches its dual meet season with three contests in Las Vegas.
On Saturday, the Pacific community is invited to The Lair in the DeRosa University Center to watch the two road basketball games: the women at Pepperdine at 1 p.m. and the men at BYU at 6 p.m. It's a great place to watch a Tiger game!
Thursday, Feb. 2 - Men's Tennis at California, 3 p.m. - After splitting the opening weekend, knocking off UC San Diego, 6-1, on Saturday before bowing to Sacramento State, 4-1, on Sunday, the Tigers will face two Pac-12 opponents this week, starting with the California Bears (3-2).
Thursday, Feb. 2 – Men's Basketball vs. Pepperdine, Alex G. Spanos Center, 7 p.m. – Fresh off a road WCC win over Santa Clara, Pacific (11-12, 4-4) will host Pepperdine (7-16, 0-9). With a win, Pacific can move into fourth place in the WCC. Coaches will be wearing orange sneakers, raising awareness for Coaches vs. Cancer.
Thursday, Feb. 2 – Women's Basketball at Loyola Marymount, 7 p.m. – After a win over BYU at home Saturday, the Tigers (8-14, 3-8) moved into eighth place in the WCC, and will face the two teams below them in the standings this week, starting with the Lions. LMU (5-17, 2-9) lost to Pacific, 73-52, in Stockton on January 7, which was the start of a six-game skid for the Lions.
Friday, Feb. 3 – Saturday, Feb 4 – Men's and Women's Swimming at the UC Santa Barbara Invitational – The men's and women swim teams head to a two-day event at UC Santa Barbara as the final preparation for the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, which will take place on February 15-18 in Mission Viejo, Calif.
Friday, Feb. 3 – Women's Tennis vs. Youngstown State at UNLV, 10 a.m. – The Tigers will open the dual-meet spring season with three contests at UNLV, starting with this match against the Penguins (1-1).
Saturday, Feb. 4 – Women's Tennis at UNLV, 10 a.m. – The Tigers will face the host Rebels (0-0) at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. Like Pacific, UNLV will open the spring season Friday. The Rebels will face Weber State.
Saturday, Feb. 4 – Women's Water Polo at Cal State East Bay, 11 a.m. – After winning three of four contests at the Lancer Joust last weekend to open the season, the #19 Tigers (3-1) will face the Pioneers (2-2) for the second straight year. Among the wins last week was a 12-11 victory over #6 UC Irvine.
Saturday, Feb. 4 – Women's Basketball at Pepperdine, 1 p.m. – The Tigers wrap up the Southern California road trip against the Waves (7-14, 2-9). Pacific bested Pepperdine, 74-65, back on January 5. The game will be broadcast on the WCC Network and will be featured at The Lair in the DeRosa University Center on the Pacific campus.
Saturday, Feb. 4 – Men's Basketball at BYU, 7 p.m. MT/6 p.m. PT – It's a critical game as the Tigers enter the week tied with BYU (14-10, 4-5) in the win column with four wins each. Pacific is 7-3 on the road this season. The Cougars have lost their last three WCC contests. Pacific lost to BYU at home, 69-49, in the opening tilt of the WCC season back on December 29. The game will be broadcast by BYU-TV and can be watched at The Lair in the DeRosa University Center on the Pacific campus. Zack Bayrouty will also broadcast the game on Fox Sports 1280 in Stockton and available via www.PacificTigers.com.
Sunday, Feb. 5 – Women's Tennis vs. Weber State at UNLV, 11 a.m. – Pacific will wrap up the opening weekend of the season against the Wildcats (1-2).
Sunday, Feb. 5 – Men's Tennis at Oregon, 11 a.m. – The Ducks (3-1) are the second Pac-12 opponent for the Tigers on the road this week. After a 3-0 start, Oregon dropped its last contest to #2 Ohio State.
