Awards Event Scheduled for February 8 in Ottawa

OTTAWA, Canada – Pacific senior Bogdan Djerkovic was selected as the top amateur water polo athlete in Ottawa and will be honored at the 70th edition of the Ottawa Sports Awards, a special awards dinner on February 8. The event will honor the top amateur Ottawa athletes in 65 different sports based on achievements from the past year.

"Congratulations to Bogdan," said Head Coach James Graham. "He had an amazing career and has left a legacy at Pacific.  Bogdan's hard work, dedication and passion will serve as a lasting example here, and it is great to see him honored for his excellence."

Djerkovic was named to an Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches All-America team for the second time following the 2022 season. Djerkovic had completed his fourth season with the Tigers this fall, scoring 67 goals, tied for the team lead. He was named the Golden Coast Conference MVP at the conference tournament after leading Pacific to the 2022 title and the automatic berth into the NCAA championship. He scored four goals in the two NCAA contests and was honored as a second-team selection to the NCAA All-Tournament Team.

Djerkovic was one of three Tigers that played for Team Canada this summer in both the FINA World Championships in Budapest and the FINA World League Super Final in Strasbourg, France.
