STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team (1-7-1) is back in action for the first time in over a week and for the first time in the WCC this season, taking on Santa Clara (3-2-2) on Saturday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m.
The Tigers will look to start the conference schedule off strong against a Broncos squad that has played the fewest games in the conference.
Ryan Her leads the team in goals scored with four.
Cooper Riley has two goals and one assist. Six different Tigers have scored this year, and six have assisted on goals.
Derick Roque leads the team with three assists. Five Tigers have started every game this season, with
Javier Chavez playing 804 of a possible 810 minutes leading the way in minutes played.
Brian Lanier and
Eric Cotton have seen time in goal, with Cotton starting the first seven games and Lanier seeing the start in the last two. Cotton has 21 saves, while Lanier has 18.
Santa Clara has had a positive result in its last four games, with three wins and a draw. The Broncos have scored six goals in seven games. Santa Clara has four shutouts this season and three shutouts in their past four matches. The Broncos made the NCAA tournament for the 21st time last season.
