in KINGSBURG, Calif. – The Pacific men's golf team wrapped up the final round of the Nick Watney Invitational Tuesday morning, earning an 11th-place finish in a 14-team field at the Kings River Country Club.
Petr Janik scored the best round in the final 18 holes of the tournament, posting an even-par 71 to lead the team. Janik finished the three-round tournament in a tie for 54th place with a six-over 219, while
Timothy Jung also finished with a score of 219 as he tallied three birdies in the final round for a one-over 72.
After posting his best season round,
Leonardo Rigamonti rounded out the tournament with a two-under 211, placing him in a tie for 16th place. Recording his best overall score since posting a 215 at the PING Cougar Classic a season ago, the senior from Eupilio, Italy, tallied birdies on two of the last three holes of the final round for a total of 14 throughout the tournament.
Maverick Pavletich and
Griffin Long rounded out the scoring for the Tigers, as Pavletich finished the tournament with a three-over 216, while Long registered a 20-over 233.
"Not the results we were looking for this week," Head Coach
John Cook stated after the final round. "We will focus on getting ready for Oregon State."
Pacific returns to action on Monday, Oct. 10, as the Tigers travel to compete in the Oregon State Invitational.
