STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team (1-6-1) is back on the road after a short respite at home. The Tigers travel to San Jose State to battle the Spartans on Thursday, Sept. 22.
Ryan Her continued his excellent season, scoring his fourth goal of the season off a beautiful free kick just outside the box. The Tigers have shown off their depth this season, with 17 players receiving a start. Derick Roque leads the team in assists with three. Cooper Riley has scored twice and added an assist already. Eric Cotton has started seven games in goal and made 21 saves. Brian Lanier has appeared in two games with ten saves.
The Spartans are coming off a 3-2 win over UC Davis last Wednesday. San Jose State also has a 2-0 win over CSU Bakersfield this season, along with a tie against San Francisco. The matchup will be the final tune-up for conference play for both squads. The Spartans finished last season 10-7-3 and made it to the second round of the WAC tournament before falling to Grand Canyon.
