STOCKTON, Calif. – Coming off a 4-2 win over CSU Bakersfield, the Tigers host CSUN on Thursday at Knoles Field.
Ryan Her is off to a torrid start, scoring three goals in the first two games. With four shots on goal, Her has scored 75% of his chances.
Derick Roque has three assists to start the season and is tied for second on the team in points with
Abdullahi Mohamed.
Javier Chavez and
Eric Cotton are the only two players this season to have played every minute.
CSUN is off to an undefeated start to their season after beating San Diego State and tying SIU Edwardsville. The Tigers played the Matadors for the first time last season, winning 2-1 as Her and
Emory Rapaport scored in the win for the Tigers. Jamar Ricketts leads the Matadors with three points to start the season.
"CSUN possesses another challenging 90 minutes for the group," said Head Coach
Adam Reeves. "They had a good opening weekend and will travel here full of confidence. I greatly respect Terry and the job he has done at CSUN over the past 20+ years. If we can impose our method and keep things tight at the back, we can be successful in every match we play. It will be another game where we need to roll up our sleeves and grind out all the intangibles necessary to prosper.
