STOCKTON, Calif. – The Tigers head to UC Davis on Thursday, coming off their first win of the season over Sacramento State.
The Tigers scored four times in the win over Sacramento State, including twice in three minutes after falling behind 1-0.
Alexis Pashales scored her first collegiate goal;
Jenae Packard had a goal and an assist. The Tigers outshot the Hornets 14-8.
Packard leads the team in points with four, and Packard and
Hana Rosenblatt lead the team with two assists. Six different Tigers have scored this season. The Tigers received reinforcements as
Aniela Jensen returned from her stint with the New Zealand National Team.
"When we put together this season's non-conference schedule, we know it was going to be demanding and challenging every week," said Co-Head Coaches
Danesha Adams and
J.J. Wozniak. "We felt good with how our opening week went on many levels, but we know it is a new week, which means two more quality opponents. With both programs off to undefeated starts to begin the season, we look forward to the opportunity to play at UC Davis on Thursday. We cannot wait to see everyone at our Sunday afternoon home match against Oregon State!"
The Aggies are coming off a 1-0 win over #5 Santa Clara despite not having a shot on goal. The win was the first over a ranked team in program history. Goalkeeper Caeley Goldstein had a career-high seven saves in the win.
The Tigers have not played the Aggies in a regular season game since the 2019 season, a 3-0 win for UC Davis at Knoles Field. The two teams played an exhibition last season, which ended in a 2-1 double overtime win for the Tigers.
The Aggies finished last season 10-8 overall with a 5-5 conference record. The Aggies were picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll, the highest preseason ranking under coach Tracy Hamm.
