711 Donors Raised an Outstanding $159,460 for Athletics During Pacific Gives

Pacific Gives is a 24-hour day of giving where alumni, students, faculty, staff and friends unite to show their commitment and support of our students and Pacific. The 2022 campaign set records by raising more than $1.6 million from more than 2,700 donors this year, exceeding last year's historic giving total by more than 33%, with the number of donors up 70%.

Gifts poured in from students, faculty, staff, alumni and friends from the local region to as far away as Japan and Australia.

"We are so grateful for everyone who supported Pacific Gives and made it the biggest day yet," said Scott Biedermann '05, '20, vice president for development and alumni relations. "It's a sense of pride that our university came together in such a tremendous way to support our students. Every donation has a big impact."

Pacific gives allows donors to direct their money to areas they are most passionate about—from student scholarships to experiential learning opportunities to athletics.

Thanks to donors, ambassadors and those who encouraged others to do the same, the Pacific Athletics Department was able to make a huge impact and bring in substantial dollars to support the athletics program. 711 donors raised an outstanding $159,460, putting Athletics in first place relative to donor count and participation amongst Pacific groups.

Sport programs and individuals earned matching funds for their program through the "Pacific Gives" Director of Athletics match opportunities with the team and ambassador challenges. Men's Soccer and Head Coach Adam Reeves earned first place in both the team and ambassador challenges with 116 donors and 88 ambassadors, respectively. Women's volleyball and Head Coach Greg Gibbons placed second with 104 donors in the team challenge and 82 donors in the ambassador challenge. Lastly, Softball earned third place in the ambassador challenge with 65 donors.

"We are so incredibly proud of our supporters, including our very own Pacific Athletics staff members," Director of Athletics Janet Lucas said. "The pride and generosity of those who support Pacific and our student-athletes are unmatched. It is particularly rewarding to see the breadth and depth of the involvement – relative to both the number of individuals who participated but also the resources raised to support the Tigers as we focus on building champions in the classroom, in competition and in life!"
