PROVO, Utah – The Pacific Women's Tennis Team (10-9, 2-4) travels to Utah on Friday, April 22, to take on the BYU Cougars (9-14, 3-4) in its final game of the regular season. Play kicks off at 11 a.m. PDT (noon MDT).
"We're looking forward to wrapping up the regular season at BYU with a chance at postseason play," said Head Coach Mike Erwin. "We'd need some things to go our way, but definitely excited and proud of what this group has accomplished this year."
After sweeping Gonzaga and Portland last weekend, both by 4-3 scores, the Tigers head to the final contest of the regular season with a WCC Tournament bid still in play.
The Tigers are 1-6 against the Cougars, including a 2-5 loss in March 2021. The Tigers can move ahead of BYU into sixth place with a win on Friday. The Cougars also have a Saturday contest against Saint Mary's.
Last week, Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle at #3 singles and Megan Carmichael at #6 singles were both double winners, helping the Tigers to the two WCC victories.
"I am super proud with how our team is finishing out the season," said junior Co-Captain Klara Kosan. "I am excited for our last match against BYU."
The top six teams in the conference advance to the WCC Championship next week. A win on Friday would also give the program the most WCC wins in a season since joining the conference in 2014. The 10 wins to date this season is the best in nine years for Pacific women's tennis.
