Tigers Drop Final Game in Norman

NORMAN, Okla. – The Sooner scored early in the weekend's final game and held the lead to complete the two-game sweep with a 10-2 win.

Jacob Weiss continued his solid offensive weekend, with one hit and driving in one RBI. Jarryd Wood led the Tigers with two hits and scored one run. Telly Hill had the Tiger's only extra-base hit with a double. Brandon Motheral drove in a run as well for the Tigers.

Zach Patterson started the game and pitched 3.2 innings with one strikeout. Hunter Schilperoort led the team with four strikeouts in three innings pitched.

Oklahoma jumped on the Tigers early, scoring twice in the second inning. The Tigers responded in the fourth with an RBI single from Weiss to make it a one-run game. Four runs in the bottom of the fourth and another run in the bottom of the fifth to take the 7-1 lead.

Motheral brought in the Tiger's second run with an RBI groundout to make it a five-run game and give Pacific life. However, the momentum was not shifted enough as the Sooners scored three more in the bottom of the eighth to bring the game to its final of 10-2.

The Tigers are back at Klein Family Field on Tuesday, April 19, as they will take on Sacramento State. The first pitch will be at 6 p.m.
