Tigers Fall To Oral Roberts

TULSA, Okla. - The Tigers dropped two games on Saturday to the Golden Eagles. Oral Roberts got out to early leads in both games, winning game one of the day 14-2 and game two 15-3.

GAME ONE –

The Golden Eagles went up 3-0 in the first inning before a Chaz Myers RBI double got the Tigers on the board. It was all Golden Eagles after that, and scoring runs in every inning except for the eighth. Caden Duke hit his first career home run in the eighth inning, a solo shot to left field.

Myers had two of the four Tiger hits in the game. Duke and Thomas Gavelllo had the other two. Starter Hunter Hayes went four innings and struck out four on the mound while only walking one.

GAME TWO –

Game two was all Colby Canales, as he hit two home runs for the Tigers, one in the fourth inning and one in the ninth inning. The two teams were similar in hit totals, with the Oral Roberts holding a slight edge, 12-10. The Tigers could not capitalize, though, scoring three runs while the Golden Eagles rode big innings in the first and seventh to complete the three-game sweep.

Canales had three hits to lead the Tigers, while Myers and Brandon Motheral had two hits. Gavello drove in the other Tiger's run with a sacrifice fly.

Austin McKinney threw two innings in his first start of the season, with four strikeouts. Jackson Vaughan pitched two scoreless innings while not allowing a hit.

The Tigers take on UC Davis on Tuesday before coming back home to host CSU Bakersfield in a weekend series.
