Tigers Take on Nationally-Ranked Lions

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – The Pacific Women's Tennis team (8-6, 0-2) travels to #21 Loyola Marymount (10-2, 0-1) on Saturday, April 2, to take on the Lancers at 1 p.m.

The only match of the week for the Tiger women's tennis squad is a tough one. After knocking off Arizona, UCLA, and Utah, the Lions have moved into the national rankings. The two losses are to #17 USC and #5 Pepperdine. The Tigers are winless in six outings against the Lions since rejoining the WCC.

Last week, Pacific matched its best season win total since rejoining the conference in 2014 by recording the eighth victory of the season over Portland State. Pacific also dropped a home match to San Francisco.

"We're looking forward to playing LMU again after not playing them the last two seasons," said Head Coach Mike Erwin. "The opportunity to play another nationally ranked program is something our group is excited about."

Its 4-0 start to the season is the team's best since 2003. Its 7-3 on-the-road record is the best since the 2003-04 season. The team's overall record, 8-6, is the best in ten years.
