MALIBU, Calif. - The Tigers outhit the Waves but could not take advantage, leaving nine on base in the 5-3 loss.
Jeremy Lea and Colby Canales both had two hits for the Tigers. Brandon Motheral, Ben Nemivant and James McClenaghan drove in runs for the Tigers. The Tigers drew four walks as a team.
Zach Patterson started the game and pitched 6.0 innings with two strikeouts and four runs allowed. Hunter Schilperoort struck out two in 1.2 innings. The Tigers only walked one batter while striking out five as a staff.
The Tigers got on the board first, as Nemivant bunted to bring in the first run. McClenaghan then singled to right field to bring Jarron Silva and give the Tigers a 2-0 lead.
The Waves responded in the fourth, getting on the board with an RBI single and then taking the lead with a three-run home run.
Motheral brought the Tigers one run closer in the seventh with an RBI single up the middle. The Waves got an insurance run with a run in the bottom of the inning, and that was enough for the Waves to complete the sweep.
