STEPHENVILLE, Texas - The Pacific Women's Tennis team finished off their Southwest road trip 3-0 after a 4-2 win Tuesday morning at Tarleton State.

"Tremendous effort from the Tigers today," said Head Coach Mike Erwin. "We got out to a slow start in windy conditions and lost the doubles point. We challenged our group to come out fighting in singles. MiaAngelina, Alexis and Zoe got us on the board, and I'm really happy for Klara that she bounced back from dropping the second set and rolled to win the third set and match for the team. Our group is growing in confidence, and I feel like we're in every match, even if we have a slow start."

The Texans won the doubles point after winning 6-4 in second and third doubles.

Freshman MiaAngelina Ruja won her first singles match 6-2, 6-3.

Junior Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle won a battle in fourth singles 6-3, 7-5.

Freshman Alexis Sam won the sixth singles match 6-2, 6-3.

Megan Carmichael fell to her opponent in fifth singles 6-2, 6-2. 

With the match tied at 3-3, it came down to junior Klara Kosan. She clinched the match for the Tigers today with her win in second singles 6-3, 3-6, 6-2.

Freshman Cindy Ung's third singles match was unfinished after Pacific got the 4-2 win.

"With the windy conditions today, I wasn't completely comfortable, but I feel that I played the big points well and fought to get out to a big lead in the third set before closing it out and clinching the match," said Kosan. "I'm proud of how our squad has stuck together in Texas and pushed through these matches."

The Tigers travel to Reno to take on Nevada on noon on Friday, March 18.
