LOS ANGELES, Calif. -- The Pacific men's basketball team dropped its final regular-season game, 90-77, at Loyola Marymount Saturday evening at the Gersten Center.

The Tigers (8-21, 3-11) came out of the gates well, scoring on multiple possessions to begin the game. During the first 20 minutes of action,
Jeremiah Bailey led the charge, scoring a team-high 10 points. Bailey, who finished the game with 17 points, shot 55.5 percent (five-for-nine) from the field, as the Tigers collectively shot 53.6 percent (15-for-28) during the first half. The senior from Fairbanks, Alaska, notched his sixth career double-double as he led the team with 10 rebounds.

Pacific held the lead for over 15 minutes in the first half and had a two-minute scoring run to take a commanding eight-point lead midway through the half. Trailing 16-15 at the 10:44 mark of the first half, the Tigers went on a 9-0 run, their best scoring run of the game, to take a 24-16 lead at the 8:40 mark. However, the Lions (10-17, 3-12) rallied and regained the lead shortly after. The team quickly answered with a 9-0 run to take a 25-24 advantage.

The Tigers held a two-point advantage over the Lions in the remaining eight minutes of the first half and had a narrow 36-35 lead at the halftime break.Â

Alphonso Anderson came alive during the second half and led the team with 13 second-half points. In his final regular-season game for the Tigers, Anderson finished the game with a team-high 19 points and tallied seven of the team's 30 rebounds. The senior from Tacoma, Wash., has recorded 10 or more points in six of the last eight games and has reached his highest scoring average of the season at 12.0 points per game.

Jordan Bell and
Luke Avdalovic also reached double figures in the contest as the duo combined for 22 points. Bell knocked down five of his seven shot attempts and tallied 10 points, while Avdalovic scored 12 points and led the team with four three-point baskets.

Loyola Marymount began the second half on a 14-1 run to open a double-digit lead, outscoring the Tigers 55-41 in the second half to pull away.

With the regular season coming to a close, the West Coast Conference Tournament will begin on Thursday, March 3, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nev. Seeding for the tournament will be announced tomorrow morning.
