DEKALB, Ill. - The Pacific Women's Tennis team battled a strong NIU team on the second day of its Illinois road trip.

In first doubles, Klara Kosan and Danielle Zamora fell to Erika Dimitriev and Anastasia Rakita 6-4. In third doubles, Megan Carmichael and Maile Brilhante lost to Christy Robinson and Fernanda Naves 6-4, securing the doubles point for the Huskies.

In second doubles, Cindy Ung and Alexis Sam lost a close one to Diana Lukyanova and Reagan Welch 5-4.

Klara Kosan fought for a tough first set in first singles but fell to Erika Dimitriev 7-6, 6-2, giving the Huskies a 2-0 lead. In second singles, MiaAngelina Ruja lost to Diana Lukyanova 6-1, 6-2, making the lead 3-0 for the Huskies.

In third singles, Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle got the only win for the Tigers, defeating Anastasia Rakita 7-5, 6-0, making the score 3-1 for the Huskies. In fourth singles, Danielle Zamora lost to Reagan Welch 6-2, 6-3.

Fifth singles was unfinished with a score of 6-2, 4-3 for Angelica Ross over Megan Carmichael. Sixth singles was also unfinished with a score of 1-6, 3-4 in favor of Cindy Ung over Christy Robinson.

The Tigers take on the Fresno State Bulldogs in Fresno on February 27 at 1 p.m.
