Home Basketball Highlights Final Two Weeks Before Holidays

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific basketball programs host three games prior to the holiday break, including a Saturday doubleheader highlighted bay the start of the conference season for women's basketball.  

Tuesday, Dec. 13 – Men's Basketball hosts Stanislaus State, Alex G. Spanos Center, 6 p.m. – The Tigers have never lost to the Warriors, earning eight wins since the first-ever meeting on November 26, 1996. With every game of the series being played at the Alex G. Spanos Center, the Tigers earned a 65-46 win over the Warriors last season.

Saturday, Dec. 17 – Women's Basketball hosts Saint Mary's, Alex G. Spanos Center, 1 p.m. – The Tigers start the conference slate with a home contest against Saint Mary's as part of a doubleheader with the men's team. Pacific looks to improve on a promising start to the season led by sophomore Anaya James and junior Liz Smith. The Gaels have won three of their last four. 

Saturday, Dec. 17 – Men's Basketball hosts San Jose State, Alex G. Spanos Center, 4 p.m. – The second game of the doubleheader, meeting for the 156th time in program history, the Tigers hold an 82-74 edge all-time over the Spartans. In the past 10 meetings, the Tigers have gone 8-3, including a six-game winning streak from December 1, 2001, until February 23, 2008. The Tigers' most significant margin of victory during the 100-year history between the two programs was on February 11, 1967, when the Tigers defeated the Spartans 107-60.

Tuesday, Dec. 20 – Men's Basketball at Lamar, Montagne Center, 7 p.m. – Traveling to Texas for the final non-conference game of the schedule, the men's basketball team travels to Beaumont to tangle with a strong Lamar side that is 3-1 at home to start the year. 

Thursday, Dec. 22 – Women's Basketball at CSU Bakersfield, Icardo Center, 1 p.m. – The Tigers wrap up the 2022-23 non-conference schedule with a trip to Bakersfield. The Roadrunners have only played one game at home this season and visit #10 UCLA this weekend. The Tigers look to go into the holiday break on a high note before the first WCC road trip.
