SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – The #5 Pacific men's water polo team (18-6, 3-1) suffered a tough 14-13 overtime loss to #9 UC Santa Barbara on Saturday.
Sophomore Mihailo Vukazic led the Tigers with five goals. He was followed by senior Bogdan Djerkovic, who had three for the Tigers, and senior co-captain Jeremie Cote who also found the back of the net three times for Pacific. Senior Matthew Hosmer scored twice for the Tigers.
Vukazic and sophomore co-captain Reuel D'Souza led the Tigers with two assists each. Senior Rene Peralta assisted on one goal for the Tigers.
Vukazic had two drawn exclusions for the Tigers, and Cote and Djerkovic each had one.
Junior Flynn Howarth led the Tigers in steals with three. Hosmer and Vukazic each had two, while Cote, sophomore Gil Gvishi and graduate student goalkeeper Bae Fountain each had one.
Fountain also had ten saves in goal for the Tigers.
The Tigers are back on the road at 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 11, to take on #14 San Jose State in their final regular season game.
