MORAGA, Calif.- Pacific's Women's Tennis team competed over the weekend at the SMC Fall Invitational, with senior
Zoe Clydesdale-Eberle reaching the quarterfinals of the Red Draw and sophomore Tomi Main reaching the semifinals in the Blue Draw.
"Solid effort from our group over the weekend," said Head Coach
Mike Erwin. "We have folks battling back from illness. Others are working on different aspects of their game. The fall is a time when we can build toughness and resilience. I saw something from each person that strengthened my belief in them and the development of our team."
Clydesdale-Eberle started the round of 32, defeating Qianer Qiu of San Francisco 6-4, 6-2. She went on to defeat Santa Clara's Varya Zlotnik 6-1, 7-6 in the round of 16. Clydesdale-Eberle fell slightly in the quarterfinals, where she fell to Julia Moraes of Sacramento State 6-3, 6-1.
Main won in the round of 32 as well when she defeated CSU Fresno's Leann Serna 6-4, 6-2. Main followed that up with a round of 16 win over Sacramento State's Madelyn Ferreros 7-6, 6-2. Main defeated Simran Chhabra 6-3, 6-0 in the quarterfinals round. Main's run ended when Portland's Sally Pethybridge defeated her in the semifinals 6-4, 7-6.
Sophomore MiaAngelina Ruja cruised through the consolation bracket, winning her first match against Olive Maunupau of UC Davis 5-6, 7-5, [10]-[3]. Ruja won two more matches on her way to the consolation bracket finals against Saint Mary's Olivia Rook. Ruja won the first set but fell 7

Sophomore Megan Carmichael won her first round in the Red Draw, defeating Lauren Ko of UC Davis 6-4, 6-4. Carmichael fell in the round of 16 to Arianna Capogrosso from San Francisco 6-0, 6-3.
Sophomore Alexis Sam and Main competed in the double side of the tournament, winning their first match in doubles 6-4 over Buntrock and Ravilla from Cal Poly. The duo dropped their match against Lauren Ko and Yana Gurevich of Davis with a score of 6-1 in the quarterfinals.
