Tigers and Lions Prepare to Battle

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team (1-7-2, 0-0-1) is back on the road for the second conference game of the season, traveling south to take on Loyola Marymount (7-2-2, 1-0).

The Tigers opened the conference with a hard-fought matchup against last year's WCC regular season champion Santa Clara, ending in a 0-0 draw.

The Tigers have scored 10 goals this season with 35 shots on goal. The Tigers are averaging 9.2 shots per game and have a 47-45 advantage on corner kicks over opponents. Ryan Her has scored four goals for the Tigers, good for the best number on the team and tied for fifth in the conference. He has scored four goals on five shots on goal. Cooper Riley has scored two goals and added an assist. Brian Lanier leads the team in saves with 22. Lanier recorded his first career clean sheet against Santa Clara in the Tiger's last match.

Loyola Marymount is off to a good start this season, dropping only two games in back-to-back games against UCSB and Sacramento State. The Lions started the conference schedule with a 3-0 win over San Francisco. The Lions have scored 17 goals while conceding nine. The Lion's top goal scorer Adam Davie has found the net seven times, which leads the WCC.

Pacific and Loyola Marymount are 4-4 all-time, being 2-2 both at Knoles Field and Sullivan Field. The Tigers took the most recent matchup, a 1-0 win last season, with Her scoring a penalty kick game-winning goal.
