STOCKTON, Calif – After an extended break the Tigers are ready to get back in action with a trip this week to take on the top team in the WCC, #18 BYU. This will be the third time this season the Tigers have faced a ranked team after playing Oregon State and Stanford earlier in the year.

THE YOUTH MOVEMENT:
The freshman class continues to be as good as advertised, with
Anaya James leading the team in scoring at 15.5 points per game and
Elizabeth Elliott being second on the team with 12.7 points per game.
Anaya James has been named the WCC Freshman of the Week four times and is leading the conference in weekly awards.
Elizabeth Elliott also has won the award once this season as well.
RETURNING TIGERS:
Sam Ashby has come alive as of late, setting a career high in points against UNLV with 31. Ashby is leading the team in three-point shooting percentage and is second in shooting percentage.
Madelene Ennis is leading the team in rebounding and is shooting 50% from the floor for the season.
RANKS IN THE WCC:
Sam Ashby leads the WCC in three-point shooting percentage and is the only player in the WCC to be shooting over 50% from three.
Anaya James is fifth in the WCC in scoring and leads all freshman in scoring. James is third in steals per game and fifth in assists per game.
Elizabeth Elliott is second in the WCC in points per 40 minutes.
HISTORY BETWEEN THE TWO:
The two teams most recently played in February of 2021, with BYU winning 65-52. The Tigers have not defeated the Cougars since January 2018.
