THE YOUTH MOVEMENT:
As the season continues its grind, the freshman class continues to impress.
Anaya James averages 15.3 points per game, and
Elizabeth Elliott averages at almost 13 points per game, averaging 12.6 a game. James has been named the WCC Player of the Week four times, while Elliott won once.
RETURNING TIGERS:
Sam Ashby has been almost automatic from deep, setting a career-high with 31 points against UNLV while shooting 45.9% from three, which leads the Tigers.
Liz Smith has continued to play well, averaging 9.7 points per game, and is third on the team in minutes played at 26.2.
RANKS IN THE WCC:
James is sixth in the WCC in scoring. Ashby is second in the WCC in three-point percentage and is seventh in threes per game. Elliott is third in the WCC in points per 40 minutes at 23.1.
HISTORY BETWEEN THE TWO:
The Tigers lead the all-time series 12-9 and has won four of the past six matchups. The Dons took the win in the last time these two teams met, 75-67. 2020-21 WCC Newcomer of the Year Ioanna Krimili is back and averages 17.3 points per game for the Dons.
