FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The University of the Pacific men's golf team finished second at the Ram Masters Invitational at the Fort Collins Country Club on Tuesday.
After blustery conditions for the opening round on Monday, sunny skies with less windy conditions and temperatures brought lower scores across the field on Tuesday. The entire 16-team field improved on their score. Host Colorado State made the most significant improvement with a 37-stroke improvement, shooting a 275 to secure the team title with a 54-hole total of 901, +61 (314-312-275) by eight strokes over the Tigers.Â

The individual winner of the tournament was Jack Castiglia of Northern Colorado, who shot a two-over par, 216 (73-71-72) for a four-stroke victory.Â

Pacific, who led the tournament with nine holes to play, closed with a final round 286 for a 54-hole total of 909, +69 (317-306-286).Â

Individually for the Tigers,
Leonardo Rigamonti moved up four spots to share second-place honors. Rigamonti shot a 54-hole total of 220, +10 (75-74-71) with six birdies. The biggest jump on Tuesday for the Tiger individuals was
Griffin Long, who jumped up 15 spots with a final round 70 for a 54-hole total of +20, 230 (83-77-70) for a share of 19th place.Â

One stroke behind him were teammates
Haakon Mathiesen and
Maverick Pavletich, who finished with a +21, 231 to share 22nd place. Mathiesen wrapped up the tournament with a 72 and Pavletich carded a 73.

The fifth golfer for the Tigers was
Petr Janik, who shot a final round 77 for a 54-hole total of 239, +29 to finish in a tie for 46th.
