Following a foul called on CSUN, in the 86
th minute, the Pacific men's soccer capitalized when
Ryan Her landed a shot in the lower center for the game-winning goal en route to a 2-1 win on Sunday night in Northridge. It is the first win by Pacific in its season opener since 2018.
1st Half
• The first 45 minutes saw the offensive play controlled by the host Matadors as they posted a 13-7 advantage on shots, including a 9-4 margin in shots on goal.
• Tigers' goalkeeper
Eric Cotton made six of his eight saves.
2nd Half
• Pacific ended the scoreless contest in the 58
th minute on a header by
Emory Rapaport, following a free kick by
Samuel Villalta.
• CSUN equalized in the 64
th minute on a goal by Arturo Reveles, tying the contest at 1.
• Pacific nearly went ahead in the 84
th minute on a shot by Yazik Omri which sailed high above the goal.
• After the goal by Her, Cotton put the finishing touches on the win with his eight save of the night on a shot in the closing seconds.
