STOCKTON, CA – Mike Hermann, a 30-plus year veteran of intercollegiate athletics administration, has officially been named the new Senior Associate Director of Athletics for External Operations for Pacific Athletics. 
 
Hermann, who has previously served as the Director of Athletics at three institutions, has served in similar external leadership roles within the athletics programs at Xavier, Seattle, Old Dominion and Norfolk State.
 
"We are extremely pleased to have someone with Mike's extensive knowledge, success and experience join the Tigers," said Director of Athletics, Janet Lucas. "Mike's expertise relative to developing and implementing strategic, innovative and comprehensive marketing plans that improve the student-athlete and fan experience while increasing revenue and raising brand awareness will be invaluable to Pacific Athletics, our university and community.
 
Hermann will join Lucas's senior leadership team and will be responsible for implementing a comprehensive brand development strategy for Pacific's athletics programs. He will also develop, implement and direct a corporate sales program as well as overseeing marketing, promotions, strategic communications, ticket operations and digital media.  
 
Most recently, Hermann oversaw corporate sales, media relations, marketing and ticket sales strategies at Norfolk State. He also had oversight of the men's and women's basketball teams as the men were crowned 2021 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Champions before knocking off Appalachian State in the NCAA First Four.

Hermann served as director of athletics for more than 18 years at three institutions: Niagara, Towson, and Kansas Wesleyan. In 2019, he was selected as one of the Under Armour Athletics Directors of the Year by the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA). 
 
Hermann is a graduate of John Carroll University in northeast Ohio and received his master's degree from Kent State University.
