Tigers Make Quick Stop in Riverside

RIVERSIDE, Calif. – Riding a four-game win streak into the contest, the No. 13 Pacific women's water polo team (5-2, 3-0) will aim to stay hot in the pool on Saturday when they square off against California Baptist (3-8, 1-2) at Lancer Aquatics Center.

THINGS TO KNOW:
  • Looking to remain amongst the best, Pacific checks in at No. 13 in the CWPA Women's Water Polo Varsity Top 25 Week 7 Poll with 49 total points on the year so far.
  • Within the GCC, redshirt senior Truly Dorland is currently second with 25 goals while junior Toula Favley's 19 goals are tied for fifth. Additionally, junior Lucy Davis leads the conference with 19 assists.
  • Making a quick stop in Riverside, Saturday's road contest against the Lancers will be a short trip for the Tigers as Pacific is scheduled to return home to Chris Kjeldsen Pool at the Pacific Aquatics Center for six consecutive matches in the following weeks, including two newly-added matchups against Michigan on Monday, Apr. 5 and Tuesday, Apr. 6.
 
SCOUTING THE LANCERS:
  • Despite being under .500 on the season, CBU comes into the contest on a three-game win streak, having taken down Azusa Pacific and Fresno Pacific twice last weekend to record their first victories of the season.
  • Overall, Kira O'Donell leads the team in goals (19), assists (10) and total points (29). Most recently, she was named GCC Player of the Week after finishing with 15 goals, nine assists, five steals and four drawn ejections across their three wins last weekend. Close behind, Jamie Hutton sits second with 14 goals 9 assists and 23 total points as the duo has served as the leaders of the attack for CBU so far this year.
  • Over their last ten matchups, Pacific is 8-2 against the Lancers, including eight consecutive wins that currently dates back to Apr. 24, 2014.
