STOCKTON, Calif – Hosting back to back ranked teams the Tigers score first, but fall with a final score of 5-1. Pacific scored first, in the 7th minute. That goal gave the Tigers their first lead over BYU since November 7th, of 2013.
First Half:
- In the 3rd minute, Brenna Crump, came up with a save to keep the score tied
- Pacific got on the board first with a goal from Ryanne Molenaar, her second straight game with a goal
- Molenaar's goal was assisted by freshmen, Audrey Fuchs, which was her first collegiate point
- BYU tied the game in 27th minute on a goal from Bella Folino
- The Tigers had another scoring chance in the 30th minute. The shot by Melani Medina was saved by the BYU goalie
- Brenna Crump finished the first half with 5 saves
First Half Score: BYU 1 , Pacific 1
Second Half:
- BYU took the lead in the 48th minute on a goal by Brecken Mozingo
- The Cougars would go on to score 3 more second half goals
- Pacific had a scoring chance in the 89th minute on a shot from Laila Saravia, which was saved by the BYU goalie
Final Score: #17 BYU 5, Pacific 1
Up Next:
The Tigers will be back in action next week at Santa Clara. This will be their third straight week facing a ranked opponent.
