ELK GROVE, Calif. – Pacific's men's golf team continued their strong 2021 season by finishing third as a team at the Sacramento State Invitational in Elk Grove, Calif.
The Tigers followed up The Joust with a strong performance in Elk Grove with a group score 862, good for two under par for the invitational.
Loyola Marymount won the tournament by posting a team score of 840 (-24). Long Beach State finished just ahead of the Tigers in second place shooting 842 (-22).
Riley Lewis from Loyola Marymount was the winner of the Sacramento State Invitational with his individual performance of 205 (-11) across three rounds of golf in two days.
Redshirt junior
Riley Killip led the way for UOP as he finished tied for No. 13 overall as he shot 73, 73, 69 for a total score of 215 (-1).
Sophomore
Maverick Pavletich finished tied No. 21 with fellow sophomore
Griffin Long not far behind at tied for No. 27. Pavletich shot 73, 71, 73 for a total of 217(+1) while Long posted scores of 69, 76, 73 218(+2).
Sophomores
Leonardo Rigamonti and
Petr Janik both finished tied for No. 41 overall for a combined score of 220(+4). Rigamonti shot 74, 75, 71 while Janik shot 76, 68, 76 over three rounds.
Playing individually, sophomore
Alex Barclay shot 79, 78, 72 for a total of 229(+13) in his first event of the 2021 season.
The Tigers will return to action two weeks from now for the Grand Canyon Invitational in Phoenix, Ariz. on March 15-16.
