PHOENIX, Ariz. – Pacific's men's golf team finished seventh this week at the Grand Canyon Invitational at Grand Canyon University.
Following their great performance at the Sacramento State Invitational the Tigers posted a group score of 874(+22).
Wichita State won the tournament with a team score of 862(+10), and Southern Miss finished second at 864(+12) for the invitational.
Michael Salazar of Grand Canyon won the tournament competing as an individual with a combined score of 207(-6) across two days of competition.
Sophomores
Petr Janik and
Griffin Long led the way for UOP finishing tied for No. 11 overall for the tournament as they both finished at 215(+2). Janik shot 72, 69, 74 in his three rounds while Long shot 68, 73, 74.
Sophomore
Maverick Pavletich came in at tied for No. 45 overall with a score of 222(+9) for the invitational, including individual round scores of 72, 73, 77.
Redshirt junior
Riley Killip and sophomore
Alex Barclay finished tied for No. 53 overall. Killip posted a total score of 223(+10) with round scores of 74, 73, 76. Barclay, competing as an individual shot 223(+10) and 72, 71, 80 across three rounds in the desert.
Junior
Leonardo Rigamonti came in at tied for No. 70 overall by shooting 226(+13) and 75, 75, 76 in two days of action.
The Tigers will return to action two weeks from now for The Goodwin hosted by Stanford University at Stanford Gold Course in Palo Alto.
