STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific (0-1) fell just short in their first match of the season against Nevada 4-3 at the Eve Zimmerman Tennis Center.
"Tough loss to Nevada today," head coach
Mike Erwin said. "We had some shifts in our lineup this week which gave some of our younger players the opportunity to play their first match. Even with those changes, we still had chances to win. We had match points at first and second doubles that we didn't convert and then Maya battled deep into a third set tiebreak in the deciding singles match and came up a little short. I was pleased to see Klara and Zoe continue their outstanding play in singles, and excited for Ella LeRoy, who joined us just a few weeks ago, to win her first college match. Not the results we wanted, but definitely happy to be back on the court competing."
