STOCKTON, Calif. - After multiple match postponements, the 2021 spring season finally started for the University of the Pacific Women's Volleyball team on Friday evening. Although the Tigers took the first set of the West Coast Conference contest against Gonzaga, Pacific fell short of a victory in a five set thriller at Alex G. Spanos Center. The Bulldogs won in five sets, 19-25, 25-22, 15-25, 25-19, 15-12.
Although the Tigers fell in the match, head coach
Greg Gibbons seemed encouraged. "I like the fact that they did good on some things we've been able to work on in practice so it's about getting better every day and this is a good starting point for us so we'll grow from here," said Gibbons following the contest.Â
