THINGS TO KNOW:
  • Pacific defeated LMU in the teams' first meeting this season at the Alex G. Spanos Center on Jan. 16 by a 58-49 final. On that day, Pacific overcame a 24-23 halftime deficit and outscored LMU 35-25 in the second half. Sophomore Daniss Jenkins led the way for the Tigers with 18 points on 7-for-13 shooting, while senior Broc Finstuen added 14 points on 4-for-5 from the field, including 6-for-8 from the free-throw line. Pacific shot 52 percent in the second half and outrebounded the Lions 31-24, overcoming 22 turnovers to earn the victory.
  • With a win on Saturday, the Tigers would clinch a series sweep of the Lions for a second straight season and their fourth straight win over LMU.
  • The Tigers earned their most lopsided Division I victory of the season in a 27-point win over the Pilots on Thursday, Feb. 11, a game in which senior Jeremiah Bailey led the Tigers with 21 points and graduate student Jordan Bell followed close behind with 18. Pacific led by as many as 32 in the contest and shot just under 55 percent in the first half, including 7-for-13 from beyond the arc. The Tigers went on to shoot over 51 percent from the field for the game, outrebounded the Pilots 38-24 and dominated the paint, outscoring Portland inside 40-16. Sophomore Pierre Crockrell II collected a season-high eight assists.
  • Pacific is 7-8 versus LMU since rejoining the WCC in 2013-14, with four of the wins coming on the road at Gersten Pavilion.

SCOUTING THE LIONS:
  • LMU, meanwhile, will be coming off a COVID pause that caused them to miss their last four scheduled contests.
  • The Lions' last game came on Jan. 25 at Portland, in which they earned a 75-50 victory. LMU has also collected home wins versus San Diego and San Francisco in conference play this season. Prior to their win at Portland, the Lions suffered back-to-back losses to Saint Mary's and Santa Clara.
  • In the first meeting between the two programs, Eli Scott led the Lions with 19 points on 7-for-14 from the floor.
