Box Score STOCKTON, Calif. – Returning home for the first time in three games, the Pacific women's basketball team (6-10, 4-9) was unable to overcome a sluggish first half on Thursday night, falling to BYU, (13-3, 9-2), 65-52, at the Alex G. Spanos Center.
IN CASE YOU MISSED IT:
- With the Cougars netting the first five points out of the gates, the Tigers were not able to match the hot start of BYU through the opening minutes, converting on only three of their shots in the first quarter as Pacific trailed 22-9 at the end of one.
- Not able to find much rhythm offensively, UO would only score 11 points in the second quarter, as BYU remained comfortably on top heading into the locker room, leading the Tigers, 42-20 at the halftime break.
- Although freshman Erica Adams, junior Kaylin Randhawa and senior Lianna Tillman each cashed in from behind-the-arc in the third quarter, the Cougars continued to stifle Pacific as a unit in the second half, holding a 35-point advantage through three quarters of play.
- Flipping the script, the Tigers would outscore BYU 17-6 in the final period, including two more triples from Randhawa and Tillman at 8:01 and 5:50.
- Applying pressure down the stretch, Pacific cut the Cougar lead to just 12 points with 1:14 remaining in regulation. Unfortunately, the clock proved not to be in the Tigers' favor, as BYU held on to secure their fourth consecutive victory and fifth overall road win of the season.
NOTABLE PERFORMANCES:
- Tillman was tabbed the Hardworking Player of the Game after establishing a new career-high with six steals while also tying her season high with five points. Additionally, the Stockton native added 10 points and 2 assists for the Tigers.
- Joining Tillman in double figures, Randhawa and senior Brooklyn McDavid paced the offense with 12 and 11 points respectively.
- As a team, Pacific led BYU in points off turnovers (18-12) and bench points (21-12).
