SCOUTING THE COUGARS:
  • Having defeated Pepperdine 57-43 on Tuesday, Feb. 9, BYU will continue their own three-game road trip against the Tigers on Thursday as the Cougars are coming off their best performance defensively as a team, with the 43 points by the Waves marking a season-low for points given up for BYU.
  • Sitting behind the nationally-ranked Bulldogs, the Cougars currently rank sit in the WCC standings with an 8-2 record in conference play, one spot ahead of San Diego in third.
  • Lauren Gustin is the nation's second-leading rebounder, averaging 12.9 boards per contest. Pounding the glass, she also ranks second in Division I in defensive rebounds per game (9.6).

SCOUTING THE TOREROS:

Turning up their intensity, San Diego delivered on the glass, outrebounding LMU 46 to 28 while also racking up 25 points off of 17 turnovers.
  • Overall, San Diego owns the all-time series lead over Pacific, 18-9, including a two-game win streak against the Tigers. UOP last took down USD on Feb. 7, 2019, a 70-53 win in La Jolla, Calif. Saturday's contest will mark the first matchup between the two programs this season after the game on Jan. 14 was postponed due to COVID-19 concerns within the Torero program.
