STOCKTON, Calif. -- The Pacific men's basketball team dropped its last non-conference home game of the season, falling to UC Davis 77-67 Sunday afternoon at the Alex G. Spanos Center.

Luke Avdalovic led the way for the Tigers (5-8), tallying a season-high 18 points, which included shooting 42.8 percent (three-for-seven) from beyond the arc. Avdalovic, who scored 15 points in the second half, is now third on the team in points per game with 10.7.

UC Davis jumped out of the gates quickly, scoring 24 points in the first seven minutes of the game. The Aggies led by as much as 23 points in the first half and shot 62.9 percent (17-for-27) in the first 20 minutes of action. Elijah Pepper once again led the Aggies as he tallied 25 points on 60 percent shooting (nine-for-15) and knocked down four shots from three-point range.

"They execute well offensively," head coach
Leonard Perry stated after the game regarding the Aggies' play on the court. "They know what they're running and how to run it, and they're playing at an optimal level."

Jeremiah Bailey also scored in double figures for the Tigers, connecting on 66.6 percent (four-for-six) of his shots for 13 points. Bailey, who scored a season-high 24 points in the previous matchup against the Aggies (6-3) this season, was perfect from the three-point line (two-for-two) and grabbed a team-high seven rebounds. As the Tigers trailed by 20 at the halftime break, the senior from Fairbanks, Alaska helped propel the comeback for the Tigers as he tallied all his points in the second half.

"Our kids will take this personally," Perry also said after the game. "We're going through a rough patch, and we're going to find our way out of it … We're going to keep watching the film and live in this gym until we figure it out."

Despite facing a double-digit deficit throughout the entire game, the Tigers pulled to within 13 points at the 11:33 mark of the second half. Trailing 52-32 at the 12:54 mark, the Tigers strung together an 8-1 run in the next 1:21 to pull within 53-40. The Tigers outscored the Aggies 46-36 in the second half and closed out the game on another 8-1 run to cut the final deficit to 10 points.

Pacific returns to action Wednesday, December 22, as it travels to take on California to wrap up the 2021-22 non-conference schedule. Tip-off at Berkeley is scheduled for 3 p.m.
