TIGER TIDBITS
• Tonight marks the first of a four-game homestand as the Tigers welcome Stainslaus State to the Spanos Center. After its four-game homestand, the Tigers will be on the road to start December for its next three before coming back home for three games.
• One of the connections between the two institutions is Bob Thomason, who has recently agreed to serve as the Tigers' color analyst on the broadcast team. Thomason served as the head coach for the Warriors from 1985-88 before embarking on a record-setting career as the Tigers' head coach until 2013. With the Tigers, he posted a mark of 437-231 and guided the Tigers to four NCAA Tournament appearances.
• Pacific has not lost a home opener since 2002-03 as they head into tonight's contest. The Tigers have won the last three meetings against the Warriors by an average of 31.3 points.
• The last two trips to Hawaii have seen the Tigers leave with a 1-2 mark as the Tigers also posted a 1-2 mark in 2019-20 for the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic as they picked up a win over Florida A&M, losing to South Dakota and host Hawaii.
Jeremiah Bailey was named to the Outrigger Resorts Rainbow Classic All-Tournament Team as he averaged 14.0 points, 6.3 rebounds and 2.7 steals per game in the three contests.
Jeremiah Bailey, who wears #13, was featured on NCAA.com as they ranked the best current men's college basketball player for every jersey number.
• In the win over Hawaii Hilo, Luke Advalovic hit five 3-pointers - the most by a Pacific player since Jeremiah Bailey knocked down six in last year's matchup against BYU. The Northern Arizona transfer was a three-year team leader with 39 in 2020-2, 52 in 2019-20, 73 in 2018-19 for the Lumberjacks. He left NAU sixth in program history in 3-pointers made (164) and in 3-point percentage (.453).
Leonard Perry is the 23rd head coach in Pacific men's basketball history. This is his first season as the Tigers' head coach, following the last five seasons as the Tigers' associate head coach. Perry has head coaching experience as he was the head coach for five seasons at the University of Idaho.
• With the win against Hawaii Hilo, Perry became the fifth coach in a row to pick up his first win within his first two games as the Tigers' head coach.• Pacific will appear twice on national television as the matchup at pre-season No. 1 Gonzaga on Feb. 10 in the McCarthey Athletic Center was selected as one of the 12 games in the CBS Sports Network package with the West Coast Conference. The other contest is when the Tigers host BYU on Saturday, Jan. 29 in the Alex G. Spanos Center will be televised live on ESPNU.
• From the Windy City to Stockton - Assistant Coach Justin Brown along with newcomers Khaleb Wilson-Rouse and Greg Outlaw are originally from Chicago, Illinois.
• Pacific was selected eighth in the West Coast Conference preseason poll of the league's 10 head coaches. At the top of the preseason poll is Gonzaga, who secured nine of the 10 first place votes. BYU, who received the other vote, was second followed by Saint Mary's.  Gonzaga, BYU, Santa Clara and San Francisco each landed two players on the preseason All-WCC Team.
