Box Score SANTA CLARA, CA – Back on the pitch for the first time since defeating number nine Loyola Marymount, the Tigers traveled to Santa Clara to take on the Broncos, a team with only one loss heading into the contest. An electric matchup between the two teams would end in a 2-2 draw after two overtime periods.
HOW IT HAPPENED –
The two teams came out firing on offense, with the teams combining for ten shots in the first 25 minutes. The tenth shot was off the foot of Derick Roque, off a pass from Mamoru Kamisasanuki to put the Tigers up in the 25th minute.
Santa Clara was not going to go down without a fight however, despite being down a goal heading into the second half the Broncos scored two quick goals in the 56th and 59th minutes to take the lead on a stunned Tigers team. Pacific might have been down but not out and Eric Centeno equalized in the 61st minute for the Tigers, with an assist from Mathias Saether.
The two remained tied through the end of regulation and despite two intense overtime halves neither team was able to find the elusive final goal that would give them the win.
TIGER LEADERS:
Kamisasanuki led the team with six shots and three shots on goal. Centeno had three shots as well as a goal. In goal Eric Cotton had six saves.
