Tigers Tie as Centeno Scores Again

PORTLAND, ORE. - Battling one of the top teams in the conference the Tigers got out to an early lead but the Pilots responded late in the second half to split the points between the two teams in the conference standings 1-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

The Tigers scored early as Erik Centeno continued his hot streak scoring once again, with his third goal in the past two games. After getting up in the first 30 minutes the Tigers continued to press, with four more shots in the half. The Tiger's defense was elite in the first half, keeping the Pilots without a shot on goal.

The Pilots responded in the second half, putting pressure on early with four shots in the first 10 minutes of the half. The pressure paid off with the Pilots scoring in the 59th minute to tie the game at one. Both teams continued to have opportunities but neither side could pull away in regulation.

Overtime was not enough for the two teams, as after 20 minutes the game remained time despite the Tigers having multiple opportunities to score.

COUGAR LEADERS:

Erik Centeno scored his fifth goal of the season, Mamoru Kamisasnuki had three shots on goal for the Tigers, Derek Roque, Ryan Her, and Centeno all had two shots on goal. Roque also had an assist.

Goalkeeper Eric Cotton had one save for the Tigers.

UP NEXT:

The final road trip of the regular season is on deck for the Tigers, as they will head to San Diego next Friday looking to get their third WCC win of the season.
