Battle of the Big Cats as Tigers Travel to BYU Cougars

STOCKTON, CA – With only one game this week, the Tigers are fully prepared for their matchup against Brigham Young University. BYU is currently tied for the top spot in the WCC with a 3-0 record. The Tigers have a 1-1-1 conference record and are tied for fourth.

Pacific battled in a back-and-forth contest with the Saint Mary's Gaels to a 1-1 tie on October 9. Laila Saravia scored the lone goal for the Tigers and Brenna Crump had seven saves in goal.

The Tigers look to continue their historic road success as they are currently on a six-game win streak on the road and six road wins is their best mark since joining the WCC.

DEFENSE WINS CHAMPIONSHIPS:  
The Tigers are holding their opponents to 0.51 goals per game. Goalkeeper Brenna Crump is second in the WCC with 0.55 goals against average. As a team, Pacific is the second-best team in the WCC in goals allowed. The Tigers had four straight shutouts which tied their best mark from 2011. The Tigers defense will be put to the test this week, as they face the top two goal scorers in the conference. 

OFFENSE IS FUN TOO: 
The Tigers are outscoring opponents by a margin of 19-7 so far this season. With 19 goals this season the Tigers have already surpassed their goal totals from the last three seasons with seven games to go. Three Tigers are tied for the team lead in goals as Jaida Nyby, Ryanne Molenaar, and Hunter More have all found the net three times. Nyby also leads the team with four assists. 

HISTORY BETWEEN THE TWO: 
Pacific has not beaten BYU in its last ten games. The Tigers have scored twice in the past three games against the Cougars but will look to get their first win since joining the WCC against BYU this weekend.
