Women's Soccer Set to Begin WCC Play at Loyola Marymount

STOCKTON, Calif. – The University of the Pacific women's soccer team will open West Coast Conference play with a trip to Los Angeles and face Loyola Marymount on Saturday, Oct. 2 for its first game in 13 days. The Tigers, who are in the midst of a six-game winning streak, have posted eight wins for its most wins since the 2011 season when they finished with an 8-9-1 mark.

Last Time Out
The University of the Pacific women's soccer team extended its winning streak to six with a 2-0 shutout win over host San Jose State on September 19. The Tigers broke a scoreless tie with a pair of second half goals in the win to extend its winning streak and its stingy defense has not allowed a goal in its last 247:02.
 
Road Warriors
Pacific heads into the contest with a 6-1 mark in contests away from Stockton. The six wins, based on data available to the sports information office, are the most in program history. 

Defense
Pacific has allowed just three goals through the first 757:18 to begin the season. Brenna Crump is second in the WCC with a 0.32 goals-against average. Crump leads the WCC with six shutouts, having allowed just three goals. She is sixth in the nation with a .319 goal-against average.

Thru 10 games, the Tigers are fifth in the nation goal-against average (.288)

Shhhutout 
For the second time on the season, Pacific has had back-to-back shutouts as the Tigers began the season holding Nevada and UCSB off the scoreboard. The last time that Pacific had three-straight shutouts was in 2011 as they rattled off four-straight as the Tigers shutout Sacramento State (Sept. 2, 3-0), UNLV (Sept. 9, 2-0) and CSU Bakersfield (Sept. 11, 4-0), Arizona (Sept. 16, 3-0).


Firing Squad
Jaida Nyby had a season-high six shots in the Tigers' 1-0 win over Southern Utah. Pacific has a 141 to 87 advantage in shots. Pacific has had an advantage in shots in its last five games. The Tigers have out shot its last two opponents by a 37-7 margin, including a decisive 12-2 advantage in shots on goal.
 
Balanced Attack
As the Tigers have outscored its opponents by a 16-3 margin, the goal scoring load has been shared among 10-different players. Jaida Nyby and Hunter More lead the team with three goals.

Party Like It's 2011
The season-opening win by the Tigers against Nevada was the program's first since 2011 and it marked the first win for co-head coaches Danesha Adams and J.J. Wozniak. The win over Nevada is the first against the Wolf Pack since a 3-0 win on August 19, 2011. 

Back-to-Back Shutouts
With a pair of shutouts to start the season, the last time that the Tigers had back-to-back shutouts to start the season was in 2008. 

Breaking Down the Bison Win
In the Tigers' 4-1 win over North Dakota State it was the first time that Pacific scored four goals in a contest was in a 5-3 win over San Francisco on October 20, 2017. Plus, the last time that Pacific had a 3-0 lead in a match was against Arizona on September 16, 2011.

Jaida Likes Season Openers
Jaida Nyby accounted for the lone goal in the 28th minute in the win against Nevada. For Nyby, it is the second-straight year that she has had a goal in the season opener.

Coming Up
When Pacific returns home on Wed., October 6 to face Santa Clara, it will be Club Night at Knoles Field. In addition to collegiate soccer action on the pitch, the Tigers will host a post-game autograph signing party for the club soccer teams in attendance for the match.
