Bolina Rounds Out 2020 Class

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer program has finalized their 2020 signing class with the addition of Stockton native, Devan Bolina on Tuesday.

As a local product out of Bear Creek High School, head coach Adam Reeves is thrilled to add the dynamic midfielder to his roster: "Devan is a bright, young, central defender that is eager to learn and develop…Providing an opportunity for our local talent is very important to our staff and we feel that Devan can develop into a commanding presence within our conference…  Overall, Devan provides additional attributes to help bolster our veteran defense."

Enjoying tremendous success as an amateur, Bolina collected a multitude of awards and honors while playing centerback, fullback and center defensive midfielder for the Bruins.

Throughout his four years, he was a three-time First Team All-League (San Joaquin Athletic Association/SJAA) selection, two-time SJAA All-League MVP, two-time team MVP, two-time men's varsity award winner, two-time team captain and leadership award winner as well as a four-year member of the honor roll. As a whole, Bolina tallied 16 goals, 13 assists and 45 total points during his time on the pitch.

With his commitment, Bolina also becomes the ninth and final recruit for Reeves' first signing class at Pacific, as he will join future teammates Eric Cotton (Western Michigan), Quinlan Graham (CSU Stanislaus), Myles Hall (UNC Greensboro) Cory Johnson (FC Golden State), Matthew Nielson (Cardinal Newman HS), Samuel Saiz Herriaz (Oregon State), Yazid Omri (University of Mobile) and Samuel Villalta (Iowa Western CC) this fall.

Aiming to get the Tigers back to the NCAA Tournament, Reeves is looking forward to returning to campus and getting down to business: "The 2020 class combines a very exciting mix of young talented freshman with an older seasoned group of transfers… As our first recruiting class at UOP, we see incredible potential and promise that will be challenged every day to consistently produce a level of excellence in all aspects of their lives… Both assistant coaches, Luis Trejo and Brian Lanoye, must also be recognized for their hard work in ensuring that the young men joining our Pacific family can represent the program, department, and university to the highest of standards. This group fills the needs left by the great group of seniors that have graduated and also adds a tremendous amount of talent and depth to a very exciting group of returners. With determined preparation and leadership from our returners, this team can lead the program to even greater heights in 2020 and beyond."
