Tigers Complete Play in Reno

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific softball team (15-9, 0-0 WCC) closed out the Wolf Pack Classic Sunday afternoon at Christina M. Hixson Softball Park, falling in Reno to Weber State and Sacramento State.
 
Game 1 – Weber State 5, Pacific 3
  • After falling behind early 2-0, Pacific tied things up in the third inning with a two-run home run off the bat of Jessica Mabrey
  • Pacific took the lead in the fourth inning when Bradi Kooyman singled through the left side to score Carly Lucchetti, who led off the inning with a walk before stealing second for her fifth stolen base of the season.
  • Myka Sutherlin six straight Wildcats between the third and fourth innings while preserving the 3-2 lead for Pacific. 
Game 2 – Sacramento State 3, Pacific 2
  • It was Pacific's turn to jump out to a 2-0 lead in game two, as the Tigers put together a one-out rally that culminated with Kooyman bringing home Lucchetti and Caitlyn Sung home on a two-run RBI single up the middle. 
  • Vanessa Strong helped the Tigers from the circle, as Pacific's defense once again made quick work of the third and fourth innings with

  • "Tough day at the park. We really didn't have our "A" game all day. Instead of creating separation, we kept our opponents in it and they beat us. Hopefully we use today as a great learning tool."
Up Next
  • Pacific will partake in its second midweek game of the season, traveling to UC Davis on Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. first pitch against the Aggies.
