Men’s Soccer Begins Three Game Homestand Against Rebels

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Pacific men's soccer team is back at Knoles Field this weekend, hosting UNLV Friday night at 7:30 p.m. and Cal State Bakersfield Monday evening, also at 7:30 p.m. 
 
After experiencing a 4-1 setback to Oregon State in Corvallis on Monday, the Tigers are back in Stockton looking to build off a 2-1 home overtime victory over San Jose State last week. Anthony Orendain bagged his first goal of the season in the 94th minute against the Spartans to give UOP its first win on the year.

  • Pacific dropped a 4-1 decision to host Oregon State on Monday, but is coming off a thrilling overtime win in their home opener, a 2-1 triumph over San Jose State by way of Orendain's first of the year
  • Kai Lange opened his Pacific scoring account in the 12th minute in Corvallis. The freshman from Iwakuni, Japan found the back of the net on assists from Ryan Her and Jose Angel Reyes
  • Her contributed three shots – two on goal – against the Beavers to go along with an assist. Lange hit a team-high four shots (three on goal) in the outing

 
TALE OF THE TAPE – PACIFIC VS. UNLV
  • This is the first overall meeting between Pacific and UNLV
  • The Tigers are 1-0 at home with the extra time win over San Jose State, while UNLV is 1-2 away from Las Vegas. The last time out, the Rebels picked up a 3-1 win at Omaha
  • Bryan Martinez-Serrano has been the key factor for the Rebels in the early going, leading the team in goals (3), assists (3) and points (9). The freshman has started all four games for UNLV 
  • The Rebels are allowing 19.75 shots per contest thus far, while Pacific is coming off a season high 16 shot effort against Oregon State on Monday. The Tigers have tallied ten or more shots in all three games this season

TALE OF THE TAPE – PACIFIC VS. CSU BAKERSFIELD 
  • This will be the fourth meeting all time between Pacific and Cal State Bakersfield with CSUB owning a 2-1 series lead. Each team owns victories on their respective home pitches, with Bakersfield taking the latest matchup – a 3-0 decision on August 27 of last year
  • Bakersfield is 1-2 on the road this season, coming off a 5-2 loss at Sacramento State on Sunday
  • Niklas Korber leads the Roadrunners this season with three goals to go along with one assist on eight shots, including a team high seven shots on goal
  • Both teams are coming off a season high in shots - Pacific pelted 16 at Oregon State on Monday while Bakersfield racked up 22 on Sunday against Sacramento State.
