O'AHU, Hawai'i – The University of the Pacific women's cross country team opened its 2019 season with a fourth place finish at the 19th annual Big Wave Invitational Saturday morning at the Kahuku Golf Course in O'ahu.
The Tigers were paced by senior Jasmine Gonzalez, who finished 17th overall with a time of 19:29.00.
Pacific totaled 122 points with an average 5k time of 21:21. BYU snagged the team victory with a perfect 15 points, follow by invitational-host Hawai'i with 66 points, and George Fox with 100 points.
Freshman, Alyssa Hershey crossed the finish line second for the Tigers, 31st overall, clocking a time of 21:27.00.
Finishing in tandem, senior Emily Wylie and freshman Victoria Crawford finished 37th (21:50.00) and 38th (21:51.00), respectively.
Anna Martinez (46th, 22:08.00) and Skylar Duignan (48th, 22:30.00) rounded out the Tigers top five finishers.
Pacific will return to action on Sept. 13 when the women's cross country team travels to UC Davis for the Stump Invitational.
