Tigers Add Gary Chivichyan to 2019-20 Roster

STOCKTON, Calif. – Pacific Men's Basketball Head coach Damon Stoudamire and his staff are excited to announce the addition of a 6'4" shooting guard Gary Chivichyan to the 2019-20 Tiger squad. 

Chivichyan, who graduates this month with a degree in Communications, comes to Pacific after a four-year stint with the Idaho State men's basketball program. 

"Gary is a wing that brings experience and three-point shooting to our squad, said Coach Stoudamire. "He is an underrated ball handler that can get to his spots on the floor and make the right play from those spots. He is committed to making himself a better player and we as a staff are excited about getting Gary on campus."

The Los Angeles, Calif. native has been one of the most prolific long-range shooters in Bengals history, ranking fourth all-time in made three-point field goals (175) and three-point attempts (433), while finishing seventh all-time with a career three-point field goal percentage of 40.4.

This past season, Chivichyan knocked down 62 three pointers, while shooting 41.1 percent from beyond the arc. He averaged 2.1 made three-pointers per game and a total of 8.5 points per game. 

In his career, Chivichyan has shot 41.8 percent from the field and 70.3 from the free throw line, while averaging 7.7 points and 1.8 rebounds per game.

Chivichyan joins an incoming class that includes Casper College transfers Broc Finstuen and James Hampshire,  Georgia Tech transfer Justin Moore, and freshman out of St. John Bosco High School, Jonathan Salazar.
