LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Pacific swimming and diving team completed day one of the annual UNLV Invite from the UNLV Buchanan Natatorium with top five finishes in several events of the preliminaries.
"We had a lot of good racing today and a lot to still work on moving forward," head coach Katelyn Herrington said. "I'm pleased with what we took away as a team and as a staff after day one. Tomorrow is a new day and excited for what's in store."
WOMEN
Brigid McNally took fourth in the 500 Yard Free with a time of 4:57.99, while
Taylor Hosmer took the Tigers' second top-ten time in the event with a 5:05.03 for eighth.
Allie Emery also posted a fourth-place finish of her own, clocking in at 23.64 in the 50 Yard Free for a season best.
Semaj Walker also posted a personal best in the 50 free (23.81).
Angela Gagliardo won the 200 Yard IM with a new personal best of 2:01.11.
In relay competition, the Tiger women took fourth in both the 200 free and 400 med with times of 1:34.65 and 3:49.0, respectively.
MEN
Freshman Ricky Lewis finished fourth in the 500 Yard Free, clocking in at a personal-best 4:31.99 while Frankie Fitzpatrick finished ninth in the 50 Yard Free with a time of 20.95.
Brandon Reno posted a season-best 1:53.91 in the 200 IM.
In relay competition, the men took sixth in the 200 free at 1:23.12 and fifth in the 400 med relay at 3:22.03.
