Hjorth Captures Singles A Title at Duck Invitational

EUGENE, Ore. - Philip Hjorth picked up his first tournament win of 2019 at the last day of the Duck Invitational on Sunday morning at the Student Tennis Center at the University of Oregon. 

Singles
  • Hjorth captured the title via a straight set 6-3, 6-3 victory over Oregon's Ty Gentry in an 11:00 a.m. match 
  • Nathan Hampton gutted out a 7-5, 7-6(4) consolation win over Portland's Dustin Kua earlier in the morning. 
  • Toi Kobayashi fell in a consolation match earlier in the morning, 6-7(5), 6-1, 0-1(7) to Oregon's Gio Soemarno. 

Doubles
  • Hjorth and Ross Watson dropped the doubles final earlier in the day, 4-8 to Boise State's Blake Bayldon and Simon Arca Costas.
